Jim Burns

Mr. Burns is currently the Vice President of Product Design and Development at EastPoint Sports, llc., A subsidiary of our parent company Buffalo Games. He is responsible for design and management of EastPoints industrial design team, as well as facilitating workflow between New Jersey based home office and the company's Asian subsidiary to ensure seamless development of all design. EastPoint Sports produces a broad range of products from bocce and tailgate games to high end Turbo Hockey tables and billiard tables.

Jim Burns has also been and an Adjunct Professor at Kean University for over 25 years. this experience has given Mr. Burns not only the opportunity to give back to his Alma mater, but the ability to keep a current and fresh perspective on Design.

Mr. Burns was previously the Director of Creative Services at Sportcraft, Ltd. Managing of both the packaging design, and industrial design departments. At Sportcraft he produced a broad range of family recreation products. Mr. Burns was also the proud recipient of the Sportcraft’s First Outstanding Associate of the Year Award before leaving Sportcraft.

While he was the Art Director for Shelcore Toys, Mr. Burns again managed the packaging and industrial design departments and was responsible for all product and package design. Mr. Burns also managed the staff for both departments while maintaining a fast-paced production schedule. During his time with Shelcore Toys, Mr. Burns also communicated with Shelcore's Asian facilities on a regular basis to provide direction and assure quality.

As a charter affiliate of EMK Group, Mr. Burns had worked with a variety of software and hardware clients including Aris Multimedia, Future Vision Multimedia, Simon and Schuster, Houghton Mifflin Interactive,  the Learning Company and Xoom Software among others. Mr. Burns also worked with a variety of vendors and suppliers to develop unique structural solutions to packaging and point of sale display projects.

Prior to EMK, Mr. Burns was an Art Director at Quest studios where he developed a variety of product and package testing concepts for client such as Colgate and M&M Mars. He also developed test market packaging for clients in the fragrance industry.
